Our Beverage Program

Golden Ratio is a cocktail bar in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, inspired by ideas of balance, harmony, and interconnectedness found in nature.

Our drinks exist somewhere between precision and spontaneity — shaped by seasonality, fermentation, agriculture, weather, and time. Rather than starting with classic cocktail templates, many begin with a specific ingredient, aroma, texture, or moment in the season and are built outward from there.

While restaurants have spent decades developing the language of local and seasonal cuisine, that philosophy rarely makes it fully behind the bar. Our beverage program is built around changing ingredients, proprietary distillates, and a broader ecosystem of farms, foragers, fermentations, and byproducts from our own restaurants. Through closed-loop distillation partnerships, citrus peels, herbs, bread, and aromatics become new spirits and flavor components that reflect what is growing, ripening, and evolving around us.

The menu itself is organized by style and intensity, moving from bright and refreshing into deeper, richer, and more spirit-forward drinks as you move through it.

The goal is not to make drinks that feel complicated. The goal is to make drinks that feel connected to a specific moment, season, and place.

The Cocktail Menu

The cocktail menu is organized by style and intensity, moving from bright and refreshing into deeper, richer, and more spirit-forward drinks as you move through the menu. Rather than starting with classic cocktail templates, many of our drinks begin with a specific ingredient, aroma, or texture and are built outward from there, using both traditional and non-standard distillates — including spirits developed through closed-loop partnerships that transform restaurant byproducts and regional ingredients into new flavor profiles.

Bright

Fruity

Juicier, softer, and more texture-driven, often built around fruit, acidity, or refreshment.

Fresh, energetic, herbal, floral, citrus-driven, and refreshing.

Structured

Spirituous

Cocktails designed for slower sipping, with more intensity, bitterness, or spirit character.

Deeper and more layered drinks with savory, earthy, herbal, or richer flavor profiles.

Each drink is presented in three parts: the small text at the top highlights key ingredients and spirits, the large central title is the hero ingredient or primary flavor idea, the line underneath gives a short flavor impression.

The Non-Alcoholic Menu

The non-alcoholic menu follows a similar progression, moving from bright and sparkling drinks into more layered, savory, and contemplative flavors. Rather than removing alcohol from existing recipes, each drink is developed independently using ingredients and techniques like clarified juices, hydrosols, ferments, teas, distillates, acids, carbonation, oils, and botanicals. The NA side follows its own progression:

Bright

Spritz

Light, sparkling, and expressive, with carbonation, fruit, botanicals, and bright structure.

Fresh, lively, and refreshing, often driven by citrus, herbs, florals, acidity, or delicate aromatics.

Savory

Complex

Earthy, herbal, saline, or umami-driven drinks with richness, texture, and longer finishes.

More layered and contemplative, built with teas, ferments, tannins, savory notes, or deeper textures.

These categories function similarly to the cocktail side, helping guide guests toward lighter, fresher drinks or deeper, more contemplative ones.
